Red is for older generation, therefore it says that only R7-250 is "rebrand" (not really since name will stay same). R7-360 - Tobago PRO 370 - Trinidad PRO R9-380 - Antigua PRO R9-390/390x - Grenada PRO/XT ...and magically Fiji PRO/XT with Fiji PRO/XT core. Unless fake, not even AMD knew what name will Fiji get.

The 390 series will still be GCN 1.1 ?.:3eyes:

If you take this leak seriously and read it properly.... Do you have information about Grenada XT/PRO and what GCN revision it is based on?

That's for sure.

so let me be the first (on these boards) to ask why fiji is slightly shifted to the right -- soft launch? e: obviously assuming the roadmap is accurate / up-to-date

Noticed, but it has no value for me. If it is not fake it would mean that there were supposed to be 2 events for releasing cards. (distance is smaller than month, maybe 2~3 weeks) But since it is old "roadmap" and AMD plans 24 hours long event on 16th, I guess they decided to postpone all those cards to accompany Fiji on release (to gradually increase excitement of IT crowd).

Hi everyone! So, seeing the specs and prices of new 300 models, its a good chance to change my old 7870 for a new 300? I know that one of the "best options" is to get an 970 but its too expensive for me at this moment so i am planning to get a 960...its a "good idea" or it will be a bad purchase in fact of stuck with my 7870 ? Im not a "graphic enthusiast" because the lack of money xD. Sorry if this it not the correct place to ask for that 😉.

Hi everyone! So, seeing the specs and prices of new 300 models,
There is no official word or reviews out. Pretty much all the info out there is rumor. Best you wait for the reviews.

Hi there and welcome to the forums. I am sure you can wait till 16th when we will know for sure what's architecture used in each GPU. If there are actually new chips based on Tonga (like r9-285) or newer architecture, then those will be competitive with nVidias cards and will deliver some nice to have features (Freesync, TrueAudio, ...). Considering GTX 960 is priced around r9-285, it's replacement may be clear winner for you. Side note: GTX 960 is worst gaming value for money paid right now. GTX 970 is best. GTX 980Ti has unbelievably bit better value per $ than GTX 980.

Thanks for reply. Sure i will wait to see what happens with the new brand of cards. Im just looking for a "good purchase" to get alive my rig some more years, i dont care if i "cant play" the last games on ultra...actually im playing witcher 3 with a mix of ultra-high-medium settings with an acceptable framerate of 40-45 almost all the time. I can get a 280 for 199€ or a 285 for 189€....so i assume that this prices will go down a little more when 300 brand came out.

So they compete with 980 TI with liquid cooling? Isn't that a bit desperate?

We'll see, but I expect heat's the primary problem here, not necessarily performance. The air-cooled ones can probably substitute as microwaves.

Do you think there is some horrific difference between 250 and 300 Watts? Or do you think people who use water cooling for CPU or even GPU are desperate? I want water cooled one, because It can put all that heat directly out of case. My current GPU cooling would be enough enough for 300W GPU. But getting card directly with optimal cooling is actually discount since I would not need to get 3rd party cooling.

The R9 285 is Tonga, which will be the R9 380 with slightly more shader procesors, this chip will now be respun to "Antigua" and is positioned against the GeForce GTX 960. Tonga/Antigua does offer Direct3D feature-level 12_0 support.
Hmmm wonder if all it'll take is a VBios flash to turn my R9-285 into an R9-380

Best wait for the reviews ... there should be some "apples to apples" reviews since both AMD and Nvidia will both have high-end air cooled solutions. There haven't been too many reviews pitting Hybrid cooled solutions against each other, so will be good to see read some of those since both AMD and Nvidia have enthusiast class hybrid cooled cards.

Im expecting the new revision to be all GCN 1.2, whatever Tonga is based on. Hoping im right, but we'll see next week. 😉

It looks like they are showing that Fiji will be moving on as the next series of cards and leaving the rest behind. That's how I read it.:tomcat::grin2:

It might be the "shift" to HBM ? 😉

I'd say that's the least I expect for me to consider these cards. In fact if AMD doesn't do that, then it means nothing has changed and the name change would be meaningless.
