If I had a 4K monitor, I would certainly use this feature with demanding games. If the GPU market situation remains and my RX 5700 XT cannot handle decent settings anymore, then I might use this at 1440p too. I recommend to try this feature on 4K displays.

FSR is in my opinion only good option at higher resolutions, 4K (and maybe best quality preset at 1440p), especially if the game has "ultra hd texures" and your GPU is struggling to keep your desired FPS. In my case that would be 120FPS.
I was expecting to see wider adoption of FSR when it came out, but it is what it is.
Personally, I play racing games with a wheel and pedals in a simrig. And simracing games usually aren't very taxing on the GPU, except ACC or if you run triple screen setup or (Samsung G9 curved) 5K ultrawide.

Some of the listed games already supported FSR.
F1 2021 already supported FSR. I think you couldn't change the quality preset, but it's there.
Not long ago, Assetto Corsa Competizione got big 1.8 update, and it got FSR and DLSS. In ACC I turn FSR on when I play online.
So I don't know why AMD came out with this press release. Maybe pre-CES hype?

FSR is really good for older gpus.
And not only needed for high res usage honestly.
Using lossles scaling tool on my RX 570 8Gb rig, rendering the game at 1600x900 and scaling up to 1920x1080 still looks really good and nets 15+fps avg.
I wanna bust out my GTX 780 and try this tool on it too.
I also have a HD 7970 and fury to try the tools out with FSR.
Game native FSR is better though but not alot of games I play have it. My main rig only needs it in one game, CyberPunk 2077.
High settings, ray tracing on, reflections on, shadows and medium lighting, I get 25 fps @ 3440x1440 with a 6800xt.
Using the FSR tool, 2560x1080 scaled 6 sharpness to 3440x1440 I get an avg of 45-55fps depending on the scene. And it still looks really good considering.

Has it been only six months since the introduction of FSR? I actually think it isn't bad that 70 games (and counting) are using the tech. I sometimes think that certain games, Metro Exodus PC Enhanced is a very good example, would really benefit our AMD RX 6000 cards.
The dev went through the trouble of incorporating DLSS for nVidia, yet decided NOT to help AMD cards with FSR incorporation. My Spidey senses tingles (may have to put on my tin foil hat) and I wonder wonder the dev did a handshake deal with nVidia to deliberately leave out FSR. Anyway, I love that I can play Godfall at 4K with FSR set at 'Quality' preset on my GTX 1080/i7 4770K/16GB HTPC rig.

The total number of games where I wanted to use FSR with my 3060 on 1440p display is unfortunately still 0.

Metro Exodus PC Enhanced needs FSR simply because with RT enabled, at 3840x1080 (exactly 1/2 4K), even my RX 6900 XT struggles, with FSR, my minimum FR would be higher, leading to smoother gameplay. Peeps with nVidia RTX cards would say that there's no need for FSR, sure they already have DLSS, but IF DLSS hadn't be incorporated into the game, they'd be like RX 6000 cards owners as well, crying out for DLSS and FSR respectively. No reason for 4A Games to not incorporate both, unless there's something else we're not aware of.
For the purpose of clarity, this isn't a criticism of nVidia, it's more to do with the game dev for NOT bothering to have FSR as well.

Its better than nothing. For 4k that is .
