Plot Twist: AMD installed and removed ads quickly to show that they can communicate very well and listening to community.

That was one of the fastest changes I've ever seen.

It is not about showing communication and listening. They shown ability to admit mistake.

It's not a mistake if it's part of a plan. I mean, what the hell AMD is thinking while releasing product with ads? Did they enjoy watching it? Did they expect community to enjoy watching ad? If you release a product with an ad in it, it's probably comes with a contract. You can't just remove it and break a contract cause people don't like it. You have to explain it to your boss, customer and maybe even shareholders before removing it. What kind of release is that? "We kinda like you guys cause you talk nice of us, have an free ad"??? Oh wait, users hate ad, we now remove it. I mean wtf?

now if only they could fix dual source blending in vulkan and opengl, that oh... they break and fix and break something else, then break it again when they fix that something else. jesus....

Heh well Vulkan might have some hope for it but OpenGL is probably going to remain a problem area for AMD, hopefully I'm wrong but I wouldn't be too surprised if they're moving forward with Vulkan and D3D12 and the issues with OpenGL and D3D11 will remain. Although depending on severity they might just have to fix it, preferably sooner rather than later but some of the issues with older GPU model support and such have remained for months now while other issues are prioritized instead.

It seems to me that instead of ensuring better perf, the birth of DX12 has just split the gaming APIs. Yes, the potential is obviously there, but the amount of devs who have the knowledge, the resources and the time to implement DX12 correctly, is MINISCULE! Too much effort for basically nothing. I hope this changes soon, as the developers learning curve ramps up. #wrongthread I know 😀

Nah, they had advertisement for games in catalyst installer for years. And they had there Dead Island: Epidemics till the end. Even while game was taken down by developer never to leave beta.

Catalyst installers are totally different thing. Anyway, AMD communities are actually really hyped about it... And I think there other side of a story.

A new icon in my desktop? Better do a banner in catalyst panel control or install's box. But, I can't see a really bad problem here.

Same here, I uninstalled everything then downloaded again and is working now but this build seems to have a lot more issues than the last two builds.
