Pretty decent, prolly gonna go for one of these before year's end.

Is that before it gets scalped and put close to 1000$€?

At that price you can buy a 5950X which is still more efficient and better. Or just wait and buy Zen4, you need new mobo for this one anyways, so it would be a big fail to buy one of these

Too much for a CPU. Unless you depend on specific workloads this CPU excels at for your business. For gaming, pretty sure you will find something decent at half the price allowing you to put up the other half towards a better GPU.

Literally shooting themselves in the foot with the pricing, they’ll be kicking themselves when Zen 3+ will be stealing the rest of the sales as well as the performance crown again. Competition is sharp again so there’s that.

I hope those prices aren't real. If they are, it reduces my faith in Intel trying to start price competition in the GPU market.

Its Intel after all. Only fool would think they will save the gpu market.

Those prices are really high.

$800 for a cpu is pretty decent to you?

And then a mobo for minimum 300$ due to LGA 1700.
data/avatar/default/avatar20.webp
Bit pricey, ddr5 too for decent sticks too $300.

Yeah, it'll go great with my $2000 gpu.

The price is really high. I'm really curios about AMD's Zen 4 CPU pricing now. Probably it will be something like 50 Euros cheaper across the range. I still don't think efficiency plus performance cores in a Windows environment, is the right direction they should be going though...

I don't think anything will be "cheap" again anytime soon. Same for "best bang for buck", gone are the days of something like a i7 920 getting OC'ed to performance levels of the top dog. Now you get exactly what you pay for, and pay a lot you will...

Have we seen benchmarks then? Intel is still best for IPC and therefore FPS on many games.

Why not buy the same CPU for 653 then? Or am i missing something about the way that price list works?

Those prices make no sense unless Intel doesn´t want to compete against AMD. 741€ for the 12900K? I can get a 5800x with a decent board and RAM for almost the same price, it´s ridiculous! Not to mention the amount of money we need to invest in cooling just to tame the beast. Like others said, i hope those prices are wrong otherwise...

The 12600K seems to be an ok price, a bit high but not outrageous. The 12700K though... that's way too expensive. The extra 2 cores is not worth that amount of money.

Better? Yeah, probably. More efficient? I highly doubt that. AMD is getting cocky lately and TSMC is going to drive up prices, so I'm guessing Zen4 isn't going to be the good value we're all used to seeing, regardless of scalpers.

I assume it means Intel is really confident in taking back the performance crown. That or they suspect everything will sell because of scalpers and miners.

Now a day not, but i remember a couple of years ago when 6 and 8 core CPU were in the thousands

Disappointing, but expected. No reason for anyone to lower prices now.
