PS3 emulation was one of the reasons im upgrading zen3 to ADL

Not me. It runs well on my 5600x. Aint worth the stupid premium of a z590 setup and DDR5 for Intel$$$$.

I'm sure getting the 5950x as a drop in upgrade is a far better option and cheaper than upgrading the entire system cpu/mobo/ram

A 12600KF costs less than a 5600X, has 4 additional cores (albeit, E cores), and can be paired with DDR4. If I were going with a fresh new system, I'd choose the 12600KF over the 5600X. Though, if I were going with a new system, I'd wait for the 6600X first.

Or y'know, just get an actual PS3.

And play in 720p 30 fps, ewww no. Isnt that the point of emulation, pls stop giving stupid answers lol

You get proper USB support too πŸ˜› Ryzen is a mess with USB on 500 series still, and I have issues even on X470 today with the latest AGESA.
You have mess and i dont have any mess. Miracle ?

no, the point of emulation is preservation. everything else is extra

Use rocketlake feature level (AVX512VBMI2) when AVX-512 is detected on Alderlake CPUs (when the E-cores are disabled) When the E-cores are enabled, Alderlake does not have AVX-512 and instead uses the AVX2 path WTF πŸ™‚ πŸ˜•o_O 😳 πŸ™„

Almost the entire point of emulating PS3 is running at a higher resolution than sub-720p and at a higher framerate than sub-30FPS. That and you get to use your controller of choice wirelessly and without losing vibration feedback.

Read between the lines... If the whole point of my comment is if your goal is to save money to play PS3 games, then just get a PS3, because it's cheaper. In any case, there are PS3 games that are either 60FPS or 1080p (or both).

Those were virtually non-existent. Even real 720p was kind of rare, a lot of PS3 "720p" games were 540p just stretched out internally, not even upscaled properly. The ones that ran at native 720p looked obviously superior, like GoW 3.

Intel/Microsoft didn't come up with a way to direct AVX512 specifically to the P cores and since the E cores don't support it the result is undefined behavior, crashes and lockups otherwise.

Sony saying PS3 supports 1080, is like saying ps5 supports 8k. Save money? Lets not kid ourselves, majority of people who dabble with emulators dont actually buy overpriced physical retro games, they download/torrent the roms for free. They would save more money in the long run lol

Played MW2 (not the remaster) @1080p using my lappy's ice lake graphics, mentioned this many times, just sayin Intel graphics are no joke, their dGPUs are gonna be a big success imo.

MS only have experience with SMP kernels for their OS, i.e. all CPU cores in the system are presumed to have the same ISA support that the OS can recognize, not a single instruction less. On the other side, Intel could have spent more R&D time on Gracemont cores to reach ISA parity with Golden Cove regarding AVX-512, but that would have pushed the release date too much. The Gracemont core is already borderline large enough even without that. Its integer performance is right around Skylake, but at the cost of the FPU/SIMD side where it's between Haswell and Ivy Bridge. I guess implementing even severely cut-down AVX-512 logic could have broke the transistor budget bank.

I thought the point of scheduler in win11 was that it was able to redirect things to correct cores?

I think god of war 3 is one of the few games in ps3 that runs @1080 p and capped at 60 fps with out really many drops . Other than that yeah normally is 720p 30 or lower. Edit:
God of War III was first mentioned by God of War II game director Cory Barlog at a God of War II launch event.[10] Barlog said that the game would have full 1080p HD resolution (changed to 720p in final release[11])
I was wrong πŸ˜› Source:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_of_War_III
