anyone ever tried that "Tobii eye-tracking tech" wonder how good those is it like other "marketing" gimmick rather than real good feature addition? more over if it need support from game dev. to use the feature, then we can almost say it will be abandoned after a while

I think there is a very useful potential feature that is hinted at in newer VR tech such as what is included in Pascal. They basically only run full resolution directly in front of you, then filter and reduce the resolution around the edges. This would be good with eye tracking. Basically, imagine a 4K or 8K screen that tracks your eyes and only shows the full resolution in the tiny space where your eyes are most precise, then drastically reduce the resolution elsewhere. It would still look like a 4K or 8K screen to a single viewer. But the frame rates would be enormously faster, with 4K running perhaps better than 1440 does today.
