If you are going to lug around this screen for use with your phone, why not just get a laptop? Chromebooks cost about the same.

Here is the thing. Most of us that can be targeted by this type of device for portable productivity with laptop have 12,5 ~ 14'' laptops. And would appreciate screen of same dimensions. Then there are those other things. 2cm is not slim for portable device. It is 2 times thicker than ultrabooks which (apparently) already has screen. And same applies to 1kg weight where entire laptop's weight can be 1,2kg. Would they make versions with smaller screens, reduced thickness and weight or used it for battery... I would call it good product at given price. But none of those apply to this screen and that makes product bit unattractive even while ignoring unjustified price point.

The idea with those is that you already have a laptop and want a second screen because 1 isn't enough.

Looks much nicer and sturdier than an AOC version I bought about 5 years back. I remember the one time I was clumsy and it fell a short distance to the ground. The casing halves came apart and I had to snap it back together. While it survived, I've been looking for a nicer replacement for work travel. I don't know how people use only a single monitor for productivity.

6-bit color and 200 nits? and measly 7ms response time? How is that for professionals? For 170 pound? Lol! For this much money you can get way more superior monitors, and just carry those without the base. Plus, a modern day budget smartphone has a better screen color depth and nits. This has to be a joke! Or a clever way of cutting and rebranding sectionally-defective & non-defective screens of the previous generation, maybe even those from inside of used products.

these are standard laptop screens with an lcd controller in a portable case, nothing more. 2-3x the price (being generous here) vs getting a bare laptop lcd of the same or better quality. one example: AU Optronics 15.6” Glossy IPS FHD / B156HAN02.2 - £34.95 + £4.25 postage - no case (diy/$5-10 at most) + controller ($20-30 at most)

Working with an application that does database access with just one monitor is near impossible. Basically fingers would need to be glued on Alt-tab... I have a 17" laptop for work when away from home/office, and another external 17" "gaming" display from G-Story (it connects through HDMI, no usb cr*p). Couldn't live without it ! (yes they are kinda heavy together, but that's the price to pay for efficiency)
