Does it have a built-in BOTnet server? Or at least an unchangeable or plain-text-stored admin password? The idea is good, but I am yet to meet something from Acer not lacking some essential feature or quality.

Can it tell you when your room/house reeks and automatically spray some air freshener? I've started getting interested in home automation since playing with Alexa (Echo). Automation's still a bit clunky but at some point, it will be improved to where we get a fairly Star Trek-esque experience. An air monitor is just one of many components that can come into play using stuff like the IFTTT interface.

LOL and ewwwww. All I need to know about the air is Breathable, non breathable and chances are by the time it informs me of the latter it's too late anyway.

OOO someone who has one, can you try a wee experiment for me and ask this 'Alexa what's the point of you if I have a smart phone?' Just wanna see what the answer is.

I saw some video where alexa started to talk about kinky porn after child misspelled something. - - - - As for home automation, I would get one too. But it is not smart enough yet (custom programming), and not enough interesting modules. I could as well just get Arduino and do it completely myself. - - - - To this monitor. It is OK for limited use. Here in central Europe, Air pollution is not that bad, and risks are damn low. So, it would mainly display boring numbers like temperature/humidity. (If it was capable to display numbers.) And that's something you already are capable to distinct yourself in an instant from experience. My classical weather station does show temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, date/time, moon phase, image of expected weather. Comes with 433MHz external sensors and tunes time automatically through RF. (And is dirty cheap as any weather station today.) But this Acer thing is very limited by its color way of communication. And as such when something finally goes wrong, you will go to manual to find what this blinking red means. Definitely misses Carbon Monoxide on top of that. I see it as little children's room decoration at most. As most of adults would rather be informed directly about each sensor, than looking at nice colors.

I pictured a computer monitor with filters around it.

Just asked her...
Sorry, I didn't understand the question I heard.
That's her default answer when I confuse her. 🤓

"Alexa, what do you taste like."
