I saw this news on Tweakers.net aswell and most of the people in the comments are quite done with A.C. Ryan. I personally have a really bad experience with them aswell. I owned a PlayOnHD! for quite some time and the firmware was horrid. In the end i switched to Mede8er with a MED500X which is still use daily without a single issue.

The later firmwares have been really good, still using a PlayON HD 2 myself.
