Novidia forcing RTX agenda is like M$ forcing Win10.

...and 99.99% of all respondents would instantly change their mind if the 'price-to-performance' was shown to be in favour of a competitor. The rest can't, 'cos they be sheep (flock getting bigger maybee). So, get the competition in, get the price right, get the message out. Now, if I was a respondent can I claim some of the profit made from my data?

More people would buy a RTX card if they were priced correctly. When I purchased my last top of the top high end card years ago X1900XTX that was about $1000 AU, now top of the top is nearly $2000, it's just crazy.

Rtx is either gonna die or become universal. Let Nvidia be happy for two years. They've earned it. Remember PhysX? Relic of the exclusive's past.

Pretty much. All of the 1080 (Ti) owners who are sensible with their budget look at potential upgrades and see that the only upgrades are the 2080's or the 2080 Ti's, then look at the price and go: "Hell no...". € 800 is a lot, but I can muster it, but the 2080's don't offer enough of an increase in performance to justify it. The € 1200-1400 is just to much imo. But AMD seriously needs to compete in the top segment again. You can see the prices taper of and become more sensible in the mid segment, because there's some competition there.

Still using 980Ti and 1060 here. Since the mining craze prices have not come back down even though there is plenty of supply - nvidia price gouging is the new norm.

That would be great, it's about time 😏I still need more frames to get the magical 144 FPS :P And let's be fair, I think some people simply chose Nvidia because AMD has no answer to the high-end cards. When I bought my RTX 2080 AMD had no competing card, none. And no the Radeon VII was a giant, almost as expensive turd.

Both R7 and 2080 are overpriced turds. You card was marketed as raytracing beast which was not capable. It has only 8gb vram and it was replaced by faster 2080super soon after. Talking about about getting screwed over.

This current discussion seems almost entirely useless, but that's just my opinion which also adds no value whatsoever. Carry on...

@ToxicTaZ .... Try reading more. X64 was AMD innovation and they decided to share it with Intel free of royalties.

If someone enables rt, with rtx_on discussion changes its value. It isn't useless whatsoever.

If JPR's numbers were correct we'd have seen JHH's new golden toilet bowl on Instagram by now...

I don't know of any PC gamers in real life who don't use Steam. Plus units sold means nothing due to a lot of cards being bought by miners. We're talking about gamers here, not gamers+miners+researchers+etc etc etc.

Steam is nothing. Consumer sales is everything. Gaming units sold is the true number of users.
So you think nvidia is only 55%?

oh boy! I'd love to see their recruitment and sample methodologies just to crush 'em...

Depends on what they define as a gamer. I personally know 3 people that play games on their laptops with built in Intel graphics. They play games like factorio and whatnot.

Good point... From the research's table of content, it not clear they have a clear "gamer" segmentation and definition.

Yup, looking at new cards for my updated rig, I thought will I go high end this time round. I mean really spend the cash and not have to worry about upgrading for another 5 years but I just couldn't justify paying the extra cash for the 2080super over the 2070super. Of course the day I finally opt to buy a 2070super is the day AMD start batting around their 2080ti killer upcoming card. Flipping typical.
