So who's going to make monitors with them and when? 😀

So fans of the IPS will get their 1440p 144Hz finally. If they combine it with Gsync sometime later, I'll be curious to see how many will pay € 700 for IPS+1440p+144Hz (like the Swift) 😀

Let me be the first to say one of the following: "Not 4K UHD!" "Not G-Sync!" "Not free-sync!" "Not N-Sync!" "Meh, I prefer my korean 27" catjump tosh with infinite dead pixels and no support" "Doesn't come with a big-breasted porn star slave!" And let me be the first to say "STFU!". TN panels are utterly terrible and have been the only panels available to proper gaming monitor manufacturers for too godamn long now. Since I've taken all of the stupid comments away, all you can do is just respond with a hearty Guru3D yelp of nerdgasm that TN is being kicked out of the gaming scene forever and the shining white knight of IPS has descended onto our land; and pitched a tent. So..."awesome", and whoever said Mondays are not a good day? ninja edit: Looks like someone beat me to it...

Good to see technology is progressing. Looking forward to this panel once released.

I'm intrigued...just wondering what the damage will be to my wallet.

"Not free-sync!"
Also not 16:10! 😛 2015 will be the year to buy for me. More IPS panels and affordable variable refresh rate with display port and FreeSync. What is the difference between an IPS panel and TN? From some comments I always deduce that IPS is better than TN, but I never read why and I haven't looked into it.

IPS are generally 8bit native so they support more colors without the use of dithering. They generally have better contrast and always have better viewing angles. TN has color shift (related to the viewing angle issue) IPS doesn't have this. On the flipside IPS panels are often slower, the refresh rate on them is usually in the 8ms+ range which can cause motion blur + they usually have higher input lag. They also were generally limited to 60hz with the exception of overclockable korean panels. Personally I think IPS is overrated to an extent. I think for quality its obviously superior but this whole notion of "IPS or bust" that has taken a hold of monitor forums/topics is dumb. I have a ROG Swift, QX2710 and a U2410 and honestly the differences between the Swift, Qnix and the Dell are minimal at best. Even my previous BenQ 2420T was fine. I've never sat down in front of it and have been like "Damn if only the viewing angles were better I'd get so much more enjoyment out of this monitor".

Next monitor i buy will be an IPS 144hz with G-Sync

Next one i buy will be a 4k 120hz IPS.

The viewing angle doesn't bother me for a monitor - I'm right in front of it. However, the color reproduction on my Dell Ultrasharp is very noticeable, especially when working in Photoshop and then printing. The color integrity and representation is more accurate, sharp, and crisp. For now, IPS v TN depends on what is used for and price considerations.

Well yeah if you're doing color critical work it's a requirement -- I agree. My point is every time there is a TN news post on the front page you get 3-4 people that go "TN? GARBAGE IPS SUPEEREEERAWR".

Thanks. However with my current monitor which is pretty old I do have this feeling. It is most apparent when I play dark horror games, the top of the screen is just darker than the bottom, which is annoying. Also in these solid color tests there is not one viewing angle in which the color looks the same in every corner of the screen lol. My screen is really old, though. I'm really excited about FreeSync and higher refresh rates, but I would like to have a screen that has a 16:10 aspect ratio. I'm not so fond of 16:9.

My 27" TN panel Hanns-G is 8:5 (1920x1200) and 8-bit. Cost $230 delivered to my door two years ago. I recently had an opportunity to compare it to a 16:9 IPS (HP) (1920x1080) that cost $250 (Amazon--8-bits) shipped to my door (for the wife.) I was actually amazed that after a week of running them both side by side I preferred my TN hands down. The dot pitch of the HP was higher, and the imagery therefore sharper and better defined on the TN. Noticeably. Far greater than the very small difference in native resolution would suggest. For computer work & play. For movies...for the reasons you outline above, the TN sort of sucks....;) But...we have a nice TV for movies (far better than either monitor) so viewing them on the computer monitors isn't something we do anymore. TN's are badly maligned for the very function for which they were made--computer work & play where your viewing angle is *always* optimal. Would I have a TN panel on a laptop? Gawd no...;) But then, you won't catch me dead with a laptop of any description, anyway! Ugh.

That was also my observation.

I think the problem stems from so many people these days who buy laptops and then think--because of marketing exaggerations--that what they are using everyday is the equivalent of an equally-priced or lower-priced desktop. Hah...they are K-ray-zee...! Look over almost any gaming forum you might chose and close to 80%-90% of all problem reports come from laptop owners. It's really remarkable. But if you have to have a laptop--and you can't afford a quality desktop--then IPS is the way to go, imo. Personally, I think we can "thank" Apple for the general "dumbing down" of the computer-using population in recent years. They've managed to pollute the entire planet with shoddy but far overpriced products. Cool often does not mean "good" or "best." There was a time when most everyone understood this. That time will come again, no doubt...;)

I'm happy with my Swift. Getting 144 Hz IPS panels finally is good an well, but my next stepup will be 21:9 or somesuch in the future, and that's simply not yet capable of 120 Hz let alone 144 Hz.

i dont think 144hz and 5ms + response time mix. then i wont touch IPS panel simple cause i cant stand there response time. I take minimal blurring do to response time and inaccurate color over Correct color and terrible blurring cause high response times what good is the perfect color if it ruined by blur? For same reason I take Vsync and low FPS over NO Vsync and higher FPS but tearing. But i sure the people that only use IPS will love this. With that said wth are oLED gona hit the market at acceptable prices 10 years i been waiting for this deeper "black" then crts and crt "response" time they promised Black are fine with LCD/LED for most part but there response times are just crap

The response times of a 60Hz monitor, or rather "input lag" (which I believe is what you are talking about) are roughly >5ms (from tests online in 'gaming mode') - so this is fine tbh. With 144Hz and IPS-esque quality, you got something akin to gaming nirvana - deep blacks and high refresh. LCD's are transparent, so the 'LED' is really the type of light being shone through them - no difference in the crystals themselves. You tend to find display televisions have a 'display mode' for shops which is extra bright, so people are drawn to them. BTW, I am a card carrier of the grammar police and wouldn't be doing my duty without linking you this: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/there

not talking about input lag i talking about LCD/LED inherent problem of not being able to hand motion (aka bluring lose of detail) of any sort anything close to how CRT can, Which why i wana know where oLED is it supposed to fix that problem. My monitor is 2ms and i notice this blurring my hdtv is 5ms and i notice much more on it. if hook my old CRT up that bluring is gone. Example move your mouse cursor a cross the screen on CRT then on LCD/LED and you can see that mouse start to blur lose detail. this is even more noticeable when its text moving ( this first thing i notice when i switched to LCD/LED from CRT) and every LCD/LED to date i tried suffers from it some worse then others.

Yea I when i went to this TN asus 284QE panel from the korean monitor I had, I didn't really notice any thing different well minor darkness issue which I fixed besides tweaking the color. But not enough to make me miss the IPS, just like I don't miss that Super Old CRt that I had years ago that's in my dad basement collection dust.

I miss my CRT but saddly i dont have room to for it. but i defiantly dont miss its 40+ pounds they where. LCD/LED have killer PQ in comparison to CRT but i dont miss my CRT enough start using it again solo cause i cant stand the response time on LCD/LED. not say it dont annoy the hell out of me, but in games these days it not issue cause the game use blurring to begin with to hide things.
