It's hard to get excited about anything from the 40 series. These prices are ridiculous.

Well yeah , but at least they offer price /perf increase while anything else than the 4090 stagnated it .. well not by too much but it is something. 🙁

No point at all to buy any of these SUPER cards so late in the generation, unless you are doing a brand new build or something. If you have RTX 30 or even 20, It's much smarter to put that money aside and wait it out for RTX 50 series. At this moment in time we are a lot closer to RTX 50 launch than RTX 40 launch. We are way past halfway point.

My Msi 3080SuprimX will do me for another year or until the Division 3 comes out....so maybe 2026.

So I guess around 850€ for the 4070 Ti S in Europe? OK, hang on, I'll get the lube. Can't go unprepared for Jensen to have his way with me.

You did not really expect an honest real-market price cut, did you?

None of the 4070Super cards will be under 600€ even for the cheapest models. Thats a hard sell for a 12gb card. 4070ti Super is finally competitive to 7900xt in raster performance. Now AMD please drop the prices of 7900's cards so i can get one. 😀

Sigh. I didn't. But hope springs eternal, I guess.

I think these cards are a bit late to the market sadly but the 4070 Super does not look bad at all for its price.

More like €900-950 I think.

I based that on the cost of the non-S right now. Which according to nvidia should cost the same as the S.

People said the same with the 3090/Ti and then the 4090 hit the shelves at £200000000000 if you could find one, and have remained at a premium price. I think picking up a cheap 4080 if you can get one for 4070Super Ti Turbo XXX prices would be an ok move if you have to buy now.

Thing is, unless AMD can pull an RT beastly rabbit out the 2024 hat, there's little reason for NV to hurry up and replace the current 40 series line up.

I ended up with a 4080 at launch because there were no 4090's available and I didnt feel like waiting. Always thought of it as a place holder, but still use it.

I think AMD only needs to offer more value to their cards and people will buy them. Raster performance comes first then RT.

You need both these days, and certainly for next gen. Buying a GPU that performs poorly with RT is not a good investment at all anymore. (Not that GPU's are a good investment anyway)

Maybe you should also shave the critical area, you never know how Jensen likes it... Mores serious, the 4070Ti super doesn`t seem that bad, the others are crap.

Im just sayin if amd offered 4080 performance at 500$ like the rumored rdna4 8800xt later this year people would instantly forget about RT becouse of the value.
