Corsair snnounced a new range of gaming mouse mats, designed with durable, gaming-grade surfaces designed to maximize the performance of high-quality gaming mice like the Vengeance Series laser gaming mice. "Just as performance sports cars needs premium-quality tires in order to maximize performance on the road, a high-quality gaming mouse mat is essential to maximize the performance of gaming mice like the Vengeance laser gaming mice", said Ruben Mookerjee, Vice President and General Manager of the Components Business Unit at Corsair. 

HIS will soon release a dual-GPU based Radeon 7970 or 7990 if you want to. Over at Tom’s lab in Germany recently received just such a card a short while ago, and it bears all the markings (literally) of an engineering sample, down to the production number 007. After some back and forth with HIS, during which we provided some feedback and suggested some improvements, our German colleagues just received a revised sample – which they're already hard at work testing. As such, we’re proud to be able to say we are the first site, worldwide, to be able to check out one of these cards in the flesh and talk about its speeds and other specs.

Thermalright has started selling the new True Spirit 120 Rev. A (BW) CPU cooler. The CPU fan features 48 aluminum fins, four 6 mm copper heatpipes and one 120 mm black/white fan operating at 600 to 1500 RPM (up to 28 dBA sound output).

You can download the Intel HD Graphics driver update 15.28.7.2867. This update adds support for Windows 7 and 8 and comes with OpenGL 4.0 and Ultra HD (4K resolution) support. On top of that, the driver also boosts performance in dozens of games. 

Corsair updated their Hydro H60 sealed liquid cooler and released the  new Hydro H55. Both coolers are currently shipping in the US for $79.99 and $69.99, respectively. The Hydro Series H55 is an update to the hugely respected Hydro Series H50, and is based on the latest, 4th generation cold-plate design. The updated version of the Hydro Series H60 takes advantage of the latest cold plate, manifold and fan technology to further increase performance and reduce noise levels.

Microsoft  announced the global availability of its popular Windows operating system, Windows 8. Beginning Friday, Oct. 26, consumers and businesses worldwide will be able to experience all that Windows 8 has to offer, including a beautiful new user interface and a wide range of applications with the grand opening of the Windows Store. As a result of close work with hardware partners, more than 1,000 certified PCs and tablets, including Microsoft Surface, will be available for the launch of Windows 8 — making it the best lineup of PCs ever across the Windows 8 and Windows RT ecosystem.

Game Informer's Jeff Cork and Tim Turi talk about the Metro series and how Metro 2033 compares to the new features found in the upcoming Metro: Last Light. In what is probably the shortest clip evah Activsion released a teaser trailer of Black Ops 2 showing Nuketown 2012 multiplayer map. Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map will be available for free of cost to gamers who pre-order Black Ops 2, check the video after the break.

Samsung has released a SSDs under the name 840 PRO. Coming in three different storage capacities: 128GB, 256GB and 512GB, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (7mm thick) are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and capable of delivering read/write speeds of up to 530/390 MB/s (128GB Model) and 540/520 MB/s (256GB & 512GB Models), respectively. The 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models are priced at $149.99, $269.99 and $599.99, respectively. We'll try and get a sample in soon for a review.

Dell releases a new multi-touch LCD monitor from Dell, the S2340T. This 23-inch IPS LED-backlight monitor provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 270 cd/m2 brightness, 8ms response time and 178/178 degree viewing angles. In addition, it also comes with a webcam, two built-in 5W stereo speakers and features HDMI, DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet and 2x USB 3.0 connectors. The S2340T retails for 54,980 Yen (about $689).

Gigabyte is releasing a Windows 8 tablet PC. Dubbed as the Gigabyte S1082, the 10.1-inch tablet is powered by a 1.10 GHz Intel Celeron 847 dual-core processor, which is combined with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a multitouch display with a 1366 x 768 pixels native resolution and an Intel HD 2000 graphics. Measuring 270mm x 173mm x 14.94mm, the gadget also provides up to 500GB hard disk drive or up to 256GB SSD, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0, and 3.5G WWAN.

ECS released a new yet affordable A970M-A Deluxe. The motherboard comes with an  AMD Socket AM3 and AM3+ processors. One of the special features on this board is the Anti-Dust Shield (ADS), basically two metal plates that promise to reduce dust buildup. A nice looking motherboards for sure, have a peek.

More news from ASUS today as they launch the G46VW, the G46VW is a new 14" ROG G-series gaming laptop with Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M graphics. The press release is copied below, but there's no word whether this is a Windows 7 or 8 system.

Collapse in a good way. ASUS today shows their ET2300 which is a 23" Windows 8 All-in-One PC with a 1920 x 1080 pixels IPS LCD screen with 10-point multi-touch input. The system features Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 series processors and comes with integrated Intel graphics or NVIDIA's GT630M and comes with a built-in subwoofer. You can get it with up to 8GB DDR3 1600MHz memory, up to 2TB of HDD storage, a slot-loading DVD drive, HDMI input and output, WiDi, eSATA, USB 3.0 and optional Thunderbolt. One of the special features of the ET2300 is that you can fold it together, turning it into a tablet-like device. Not sure if this feature is really all that useful, but it does make the computer easier to transport.

ASRock sends out word that they are  first motherboard maker to offer support for Intel's Smart Response SSD caching technology on a X79 motherboard. This technology was present on Intel's Z68 chipset but was not supported by the X79 until Intel released the Rapid Storage Technology 11.6.0.1030 drivers in September. ASRock has now issued the P1.60 BIOS for its X79 Extreme11 motherboard to activate this feature.

If you have been waiting for an SP2 of Windows 7 well it doesn't sound like Microsoft is going to release one. Sources close to Microsoft's sustained engineering team, which builds and releases service packs, have told The Register there are no plans for a second Windows 7 SP – breaking precedent on the normal cycle of updating Windows.
