Seagate expands portfolio with new BarraCuda SSD Storage - 250 GB Through 2TB

Seagate announced the launch of its new BarraCuda SSD designed to take data to the next level of speed, dependability and versatility with its unique flash-speed performance and SATA 6GB/s interface. 

With this launch, Seagate continues to build on the evolution of its storage capabilities, now offering a full range of HDD, hybrid and SSD solutions for the everyday computer user to avid PC system architects and professionals. 

The BarraCuda SSD provides best-in-class performance for a wide range of applications:

  • Speed: Designed to maximize drive performance and equipped with flash-speed function up to 560MB/s and 90K IOPs that accelerates boost-time, file transfers and application loading, the BarraCuda SSD provides the desired capabilities for nearly every compute need and provides a first-rate solution for every budget.
  • Dependability: The BarraCuda SSD delivers peace of mind with a 5-year warranty, 1.8M hrs. MTBF, up to 1092 TBW with 24-hr Global Technical Support.

BTW the units are based on TLC and are rated at sequential read 560 MB/sec, write 540 MB / sec (530 MB/sec for 250 GB, 535 MB/sec for 500 GB), random read 90,000 IOPS, write 90,000 IOPS. The write durability is 1:2 as in 120 TBW to 1,067 TBW, MTBF is 1.8 million hours, and they give a 5-year warranty.
