When I look at those modern laptops, I'm always amazed at how technology has progressed. To fit all that into such a thin frame - an impressive feat of engineering.

I can honestly say I have never seen or heard of any of those devices, but thanks for the history break.
I mean, if they were 17 years in the market with less than 1Mio devices sold per year, it is no surprise that, with concurrent... 8 million devices worldwide, one can miss it and not see one in decades relatively easy.
Does anybody have personal experience with that stuff?

yes. i've played w/ sammies while ordering lappies for work, but usually ended up w/ acer or msi. mainly because of config options were more plentiful w/ acer & msi. also we have a bunch of lightweight Dell's for office staff.

I still have to wrap my head around Samsung not doing classic mobile stuff but also laptops with "x86" components
