Samsung enables RAPID mode to its existing 840 Pro SSDs
Existing 840 Pro SSD's are receiving a nice upgrade that enables a feature called Rapid Mode. Samsung says that it has applied the Samsung Magician 4.3 and the RAPID mode on its previous 840 PRO SSD line-up. "RAPID (Real-time Accelerated Processing of I/O Data) mode is a performance level of approximately twice that of a typical SATA SSD and ten times of an average HDD. Samsung also applied Samsung Magician 4.3 and the RAPID mode on its previous 840 PRO SSD line-up," Samsung said in its official blog post about the new 840 EVO mSATA SSDs.
With RAPID technology now enabled on the Samsung 840 Pro SSD's customers can expect to see a significant performance boost, of close to twice that of a similar SSD with only standard SATA transfer protocols.
"After much anticipation Samsung has made owners of their top of the line SSD, the 840 Pro very happy today. With the Release of the newest Magician 4.3 software Samsung has enabled RAPID Mode for the 840 Pro which caches hot data and enables performance like shown in the image above from a single SSD. RAPID was previously only available with the EVO."

My benchmark is completely whacky now. I guess, since the cache is a full 1GB it uses it completely and gives such over the top speeds.

Looking at Crystal Disk Mark to understand the performance impact of RAPID is completely unbalanced. In the real world it can't accelerate data or user experience to anywhere near the same levels. In fact, RAPID makes the SSD slower in some areas, a little faster in others, along with the danger of data loss/corruption if power loss occurs. Windows already caches previously accessed data anway, the difference with RAPID is that it is only 1GB of space, and is available on reboot (although still has to be retrieved from the SSD at that point anyway). Have a look at this report:

Does this works with RAID ?
Cause my samsung 840Pro is only 1 and I have 3x hdd's on raid so I can't disable the raid.
Trying to run Samsung magician it find 2 Samsung 840 Pro, one Non-OS which it says the real serial, and other one OS which has some serial.
But I can't enable.
The error is : A Similar SSD was detected. RAPID Mode cannot be enabled on this SSD.
What to do ?
