ASUS shares more info on the ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN. It provides a leap forward in visual clarity and responsiveness, especially for gamers upgrading from 60Hz or even 144Hz displays. This tournament-grade 1920x1080 monitor is the first available with a 360Hz refresh rate.

That’s six times faster than a conventional 60Hz display, and another 50% faster than widely-available 240Hz gaming monitors.

Today’s high-end PCs can render many hundreds of frames per second in popular esports games like Fortnite, League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and the difference between victory and defeat can hinge on mere milliseconds in those titles. Given those facts, the 360Hz refresh rate of the PG259QN is uniquely positioned to give elite esports players an edge.

When a game like Overwatch can render at 360 FPS and is paired with the ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN, end-to-end system latency—also known as click-to-response time—can fall from 34.5ms to 20ms in that title versus a 240Hz display, according to research performed by NVIDIA. In related research, the company found that gamers performing flick shots in that title could enjoy a 4% improvement in execution versus a 240Hz display. That may not sound like much, but in the intensely competitive world of professional esports, a 4% improvement from a change to the ROG Swift 360Hz PG259QN alone is a literal game changer. Frame rates vary naturally over time, so we consider NVIDIA’s G-SYNC variable refresh rate technology crucial for a great gaming guru. The PG259QN’s G-SYNC processor makes sure that gameplay is smooth and tear-free throughout the exceptionally wide variable-refresh-rate range. Gamers who need a broad expanse of desk space for their mousing hand also often need a display with a small footprint. We use a new space-saving design for the PG259QN. It has slim bezels on three sides for easy integration into multiple-monitor setups, and its brand-new stand design provides sturdy support while allowing gamers to move their keyboard and mouse closer to the display. Aura Sync RGB LED illumination on the back side of the monitor provides ambient lighting that you can sync up with the rest of your compatible gear. Tilt, pivot, height, and swivel adjustments let you position the display at just the right angle, and a VESA mount opens up even more options for gamers who prefer monitor arms and wall mounts. The PG259QN connects to PCs with a DisplayPort 1.4 cable or through an HDMI 2.0 port. There’s a handy 3.5mm headset jack and a USB 3.0 pass-through port, as well.

A price has not been shared.
