Netgear launches XR300 Nighthawk Pro Gaming router with DumaOS at 199 bucks
If you've read our Netgear XR500 router review, you will have noticed we've been very impressed. The price tag was a bit steep though. Well, good news. Netgear introduces a new router in its Nighthawk Pro Gaming line. The XR300 is a new entry-level model for 199 dollars.
The product comes with four LAN ports and 802.11ac, a dual-core processor at 1 GHz powers the DumaOS. the OS is really limited ...based their sites, so far the supported product only R1 (their own router) , netgear XR500 and XR700
well i guess its not like dd-wrt or tomato, that open-source
more likely they want licensing model from router maker

Running an R7000 still, but i can tell you it's the first and last Netgear Router i owned once it dies or needs replacement.
It's that there is an alternative Firmware from Xwrt, because the default firmware is HORRIBLE!
