It's a well-known fact that GTA V generates significant revenue for Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar and 2K Games. At the end of May, it was revealed that the game has surpassed 145 million copies sold, giving it a 42 percent market share in comparison to the whole GTA franchise (345 million).

Meanwhile, Take-Two has released its financial statistics for the first quarter of 2022 (financial year), revealing that the counter now stands at 150 million units. This indicates that about five million copies of the game were sold during the months of April, May, and June. Additionally, it does not appear as though the impressive sales statistics will wane very soon. Even if demand wanes during the current quarter, the revamped Grand Theft Auto V will launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 11th. Numerous copies are almost certain to be resold. The popularity of the game may explain in part why Rockstar has remained curiously mum regarding its sequel.

Tom Henderson, who previously supplied accurate information regarding Battlefield 2042, believes that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not arrive until at least 2025. According to speculations, the next Grand Theft Auto title will be set in Vice City (Miami), either in a contemporary setting or in the 1980s.
