KIOXIA announced the release of the CD8P series NVMe SSD designed for data centers, boasting compatibility with PCI Express 5.0 (x4) connectivity. 

This SSD, available in E3.S or 2.5-inch U.2 form factors, showcases a substantial maximum capacity of 30.72TB. Underpinning its performance is the utilization of BICS 3D TLC NAND flash, integrating features like comprehensive end-to-end data protection, power loss safeguarding, and flash die failure recovery mechanisms.

Compared to its predecessor with PCI Express 4.0 (x4) connection, the sequential read speed of the "CD8P" series experiences a remarkable 60 to 80% enhancement. Notably, this SSD achieves impressive random transfer speeds, reaching 2,000,000 IOPS for reads and 400,000 IOPS for writes. Latencies are equally impressive, boasting less than 250us for typical random reads and less than 1.8ms for mixed OLTP workloads.
