Fortnite gets a Raytracing and DLSS treatment (updated)

NVIDIA and Epic Games have just announced that Fortnite, the Battle Royale with more than 350 million players, will support both real-time Ray Tracing and DLSS through a new update.



The announcement came as part of a the GeForce announcements, where NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced the new GeForce RTX Series 30 GPUs . Fortnite will support Ray Tracing reflections, shadows, global lighting, and ambient occlusion. In addition, the game will feature the latest version of DLSS technology.

Fortnite's new Treasure Run map highlights RTX
NVIDIA and Epic collaborated with top Fortnite content creators on the new RTX Treasure Run map , which highlights the new technologies Fortnite is adding. The map drops players at the entrance of a museum where they are challenged on a treasure hunt that highlights different ray tracing effects. Along the way, players can explore a hall of mirrors, a medieval castle, and the jungle, climb a giant statue, and explore a tiny science lab to discover the most treasures in the shortest amount of time. RTX Treasure Run is coming.

At the moment we have no information on when this RTX patch will be available, although NVIDIA and Epic Games state that the new Ray Tracing effects will arrive soon.
