In something that made my eyebrows frown this morning, Electronic Arts (EA) acquires app maker Glu Mobile for 2.1 billion dollars, the acquired company announced on its website. The app maker is best known for Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.

In the app, players can step into the shoes of a celebrity and try to gain more status. According to a statement from EA, the company is doubling its bet on mobile games with the acquisition. The purchase of Glu should ensure that the number of 100 million players it now reaches on smartphones grows. Glu has multiple apps to its credit, but EA is one of the largest companies in the gaming industry. The company is the publisher of, among others, The Sims, the football game FIFA and of course games Battlefield.

I somehow suspect the BV6 will be more expensive to purchase this year?
