Battlefield V Alpha begins on June 28th - System Recommendations
Electronic Arts and DICE have revealed the official PC requirements for the upcoming closed alpha of Battlefield V. PC gamers will at least need an AMD FX-8350 or an Intel Core i5 6600K with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 / GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon HD 7850.
A Closed Alpha will begin on June 28 and will be available for a limited time only. DICE recommends an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or an Intel Core i7 4790 with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or an AMD Radeon RX 480. The closed alpha will let players play the Conquest mode or the Grand Operation Fall of Norway. Taking place on the map Arctic Fjord, Fall of Norway lets you experience two of its in-game “days” and play two of the modes that the Grand Operation strings together: Airborne and Breakthrough.

Intel required CPUs are overkill, while AMD not nearly enough.
6600k to run darn game, really?
And how AMD FX-8350 suppose to perform? Did they magically optimized all CPU cores?
Magically? No.
BF1 already fully utilized my i5@4.5GHz and it was not happy experience.
There FX-8350 would show that it is stronger CPU as whole.
So, it is only natural that their use of CPU became bit more threaded. Or are you seeing some 8GHz chips around allowing game developers to rely on ST performance?

I understand the lack of total power in i5 CPUs, but FX-8350 doesn't seem to have enough IPC to maintain 60fps. At least that what I believe.
It might be overall stronger CPU, but it doesn't have strong enough per core performance to deliver desired frames. (60 fps in this case)
I have to OC my 2500K to 4.5GHz to get 96fps in BF4, unfortunately it's not stable anymore.
For 60fps, it's still enough.

Actually issue with BF1 and i5 was 100% utilization of all cores. Game was choking background OS processes, sound/display drivers, ...
I could get 100+ fps in BF1 and still stutter. And frame pacing went to hell too, it felt like having 1/2 of reported fps at times.
8C FX chip has that tiny advantage of having cores which are not hogged by game. And therefore free resources for all those tiny things OS needs to do. It is enough if game delays processing of input device, and it ruins your experience.
Fully utilized CPU degrades even loading performance of HDD/SSD.
