ASUS publishes Z490 Motherboards info online (Updated: TUF added)

ASUS publishes Z490 Motherboards info online (Updated: TUF added)

On Friday ASUS made a pretty mistake on their website, as they posted photos and specifications of a duo of Z490 PRIME series motherboards. The information since then has been retracted, but it has already leaked all over the web.

Pretty much the product page for Z490 got swapped out as they accidentally posted Z490 information on the Z390 PRIME motherboard series product page.

Historically the PRIME series, and in this case the Z490-P is a mainstream motherboard. Where the Z490-A is a bit more premium. Nothing really new pops out of the photos, however you can see Socket LGA 1200. The P model has two PCIe x16 slots and four x1 slots, whereas the Z490A has three PCIe x16 slots and three PCIe x1. The motherboards show up-to 2x M.2 slots.

Updated: Added TUF Z490-PLUS Motherboard as well. The images show that it has a solid VRM with 16 chokes - the number of 'real' phases is still unknown.

Looks like a much beefier VRM also 8+4Pin for CPU power, even on the lower end of those two models. Both the Z390 versions of those boards only had single 8pin. Should say all we need to know about the power draw on the "new" chips coming

Mistake or a teaser and free marketing?
