ASUS officially launches ROG Strix SQ7 Gen4 1TB SSDs

The ROG Strix SQ7 internal M.2 PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe SSD redefines speed with DRAM buffering and a large SLC cache for up to 7,000 MB/s data transfer rates. The compact form factor fits perfectly on laptops, desktop PCs, and the PlayStation 5 console.

The ROG Strix SQ7 internal M.2 PCIe® Gen 4 x4 NVMe® SSD redefines speed with DRAM buffering and a large SLC cache for up to 7,000 MB/s data transfer rates. Engineered for strong security and accelerated gaming, the Strix SQ7 offers extensive hardware encryption and software solutions, as well as extensive compatibility with PCs and PlayStation™ 5, enhancing the gaming experience with faster load times.

High data transfers and wide-ranging compatibility
The ROG Strix SQ7 delivers up to 7,000 MB/s sequential read speeds and up to 6,000 MB/s sequential write speeds. That's twice as fast as standard PCIe 3.0 SSDs and up to 13x faster than SATA SSDs (actual transfer speeds may vary based on device and test configuration). With a 12nm E18 controller, DRAM buffering, large SLC cache, and low-density parity check (LDPC), the Strix SQ7 is designed for fast, stable performance and a longer lifespan. The Strix SQ7 has a compact M.2 2280 form factor that fits perfectly on laptops, desktop PCs and the PlayStation™ 5 console. It ensures super-fast loading times, making it ideal for gaming enthusiasts who want to boost storage performance.

Complete protection and easy drive management
The Strix SQ7 complies with numerous hardware encryption standards, including the TCG Opal specification, the IEEE 1667 protocol and AES 256-bit disk and data encryption. These hardware-based solutions ensure fast, efficient, and superior security without sacrificing CPU performance. It includes NTI Backup Now EZ software to protect digital data from malicious virus attacks and hardware failures. There is even a data recovery feature to recover accidentally deleted files. The easy-to-use ROG SSD Dashboard displays key information like drive temperature, storage usage, device status and more.

Availability and price
The ROG Strix SQ7 Gen4 1TB SSD is available now at an RRP of EUR 199.

i have respected Asus for a long time. i own and have owned many ROG/TUF items.
but i'm not a fanboy of Asus overall, but a fanboy of feature sets. sometimes those feature sets only exist (at first) at a price and sometimes they're worth it.

i had sneered to myself about them getting into the accessories market...until i needed a feature set.
i bought the ROG strix Arion M.2 enclosure not for the Aura Sync, but because it's 10Gb/s USB 3.2 gen 2
so i could plug it into a TB if i needed to

this SSD is a bit faster than that  but it's still priced competitively for fast PCIe 4.0 M.2
