With Windows 11's formal launch just over two weeks away, the new operating system has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. At the moment, though, it is just from the presumably small number of persons who have felt driven to make the transition. However, it was discovered that AMD Ryzen processors were experiencing significant performance decreases when running on the platform.

Despite the fact that correction patches are likely to be published this week, the latest Windows 11 Insider build does appear to have solved one of them.

Following the release of the most recent Windows 11 Insider 22000.282 build, it appears that the L3 cache problem has (at the very least) been resolved. The fact that this is expected to be rolled out in the very near future (perhaps before the end of this week) means that AMD Ryzen customers who are on the new operating system platform will have some good news.

The problems that are now plaguing Windows 11 with AMD Ryzen processors may be boiled down to two main difficulties. In addition to the inability to use the desired core system, the L3 cache latency is approximately three times greater than it should be.

Because the upgrade's test build is presently being evaluated, it is realistic to expect that the update will be made available to the general public as soon as next week, rather than later this year. While the update may be able to resolve the L3 cache problem, it does not address the issues that have been raised in the past with multi-core CPUs and single-threaded workloads. AMD will release an upgraded chipset driver package in the near future to address these new issues. Even though AMD themselves are scheduled to deliver a chipset update later this week to remedy the former issue, it is believed that the latter problem will be resolved as part of an operating system upgrade.
