Like how does this even happen? Zen has been around for over 5 years now with chiplets and IO die's being used since Zen 2. How can you release a new OS which is more or less just a reskin of the last OS and yet break stuff that worked fine!? How does this kind of stuff make it through testing? I don't remember seeing any performance differences when I used Win 11 in early access, everything was more or less the same as Win 10 with some games actually gaining performance.

A reddit thread I read claimed the only problem was in the AIDA64 benchmark itself. You can't change L3 latency, it's fixed in hardware. You can mess up which cores the scheduler picks, so I think it was this new scheduler for Big/Little architectures combined with some AIDA64 compatibility thing.

This is only one out of two fixes, others waiting on AMD to release their chipset drivers that fix the CPU part in Windows 11.

The latency bug is not completely fixed with .282. The current .282 windows 11 build offers very low Rnd4K-write speeds using a ssd connected via ryzen 5900X cpu.

The problem is much bigger than many people would imagine. (System used for benchmark: Ryzen 5900X, Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra (F35d), a Firecuda 530 4TB and Windows 11 22000.282)

As a 5900X user I won't upgrade this year.

5800X user here, I`ll switch when there is a good enough reason to switch like.... a good performance gain in the current games i run....Days gone....Division 2(3 by the time 11 is fixed lol) and GR Breakpoint, until then W10 does what i need

Been running win 11 since release day and very happy with it. Running on a 5950 it was noticeably quicker in day to day use. Getting even more is very welcome. For those on the fence, consider making the jump. Out of all of the windows releases, (my first was win 3.0 over 30 years ago) this has been the best. Very stable with no crashes so far (knock wood lol) Imagine win 10 put on a diet and cleaned up of old code. That's all it is.

Run it from Day 1 on my gaming PC, my gaming laptop and my main HTPC and its been flawless and definitely smoother than W10. As for performance hit on my AMD powered gaming PC, i dont play benchmarks, rather i use the rig for PC type stuff like video work and games, and ive noticed zero ingame performance negatives. Best day 1 OS ive used.

Didn't AMD say the upcoming patch fixes this issue? Surely they'd know better than anyone.

Nope me either. I'm sure I will eventually but I want this out of "beta" first.

Patch coming public today?

Was supposed to be released today according to sources but I'm yet to see anything 🙁

Tried via upgrade did not seem fixed as performance was low pretty much across the board

Fed up of waiting for Microsoft to get their finger out so I'm updating through the insider program, bunch of assholes

Anyone have non-AIDA64 benchmarks showing regressions? I ran a few in-game benchmarks and they are the same as Windows 10 numbers from many months ago. I still think this is being blown way out of proportion.

I did an Aida64 run just before I updated and one after the update, l haven't tested anything else though, anyway here's my results, I mean L3 cache was being measured in MB/s before the update and is now being measured in GB/s, I don't think this issue was overblown at all! Pre Update

Still nowhere as good as W10, I’ve been enjoying W11 but they really need to fix the scheduler asap, do a rollback if needs be.

5900x user here and windows 11 has been smooth as butter.
