NVFlash Download v5.667.0

Download NVFlash. NVFlash os the official NVIDIA utility to flash the graphics card BIOS (firmware) on GeForce RTX 2070, 2080, 2080 Ti, Titan V, GeForce 1080 Ti, 1080, 1070, 1060, 1050 and older cards.
NVFlash is used to update the firmware stored in the EEPROM of an NVIDIA display adapter. It can also be used to perform other tasks on the adapter such as saving a copy of the current firmware image to a file, displaying the version of the firmware image, or determining the EEPROM part present on a display adapter. NVFLASH is a command line utility that can be run standalone from the command prompt, run from batch files, or spawned from other programs.
- Make backups with the following command (in dos): nvflash -b filename.bin
- Flash your bios with: nvflash -f filename.bin or nvflash filename.bin
Warning
There is a real danger of a display adapter becoming unbootable and thus preventing the entire system from booting if the update process is interrupted due to a software fault, power failure, the operator manually resetting the computer (for example via a reset switch), or the operator updating an adapter with the wrong firmware image. For this reason, care should be taken when using this utility.

I don't think nvidia released this, it's done by hobby overclockers. Like mentioned JoeDirt for instance, there's a couple of hundred pages on Maxwell overclocking on overclock.net where you could read this up.
And yes, with the wrong BIOS you can brick your card, make your rig not boot, push in too much voltage etc. like tsunami said, definately you should read into it.

I was planning on reading up on it. I just wanted to know what people thought of upgrading your bios but instead l got a dick and a half. Thank you very much for your wealth of knowledge. Have a great day.

Question: I have a Zotac nVidia 970 standard 1076 Clock, 1753 Memory. The bios is 84.04.1F.00.6B
What are the pros and cons of updating my bios? Sounds dangerous but intriguing.
Thanks
If there is a updated bios available for a GPU then as far as I know it's usually tweaks to stuff like voltage, fan speed curves and other small fixes and improvements although it can vary from one manufacturer to another and also depend on if it's a stock GPU or a more customized third party design.
(Some manufacturers also release bios updates more regularly than others whereas in some cases new bios revisions have to be dumped from new revisions of the GPU and made available third-party via say I think it was TechPowerup that had a GPU bios database to name one.)
(Though you want to be careful if using a dumped non-official bios just in case it wasn't dumped correctly or if it's not appropriate for your GPU so ideally if your GPU has a bios switch you can revert to default by switching that or even dump the original bios and re-flash if it goes badly.)
