Hmm looks like it's not just going to be the PDF documentation from now on but also the GeForce forum info for known and fixed issues.
PDF for 417.01 has this in it.
Fixed Issues in this Release
Monitor refresh rates higher than 30 Hz cannot be applied on 4k monitors.
Frame Rate Limiter 2 may not work.
: Event ID 14 error may occur if CSM is disabled in the system BIOS.
: Shadowplay recordings are corrupted.
: G-sync may not disengage after exiting games.
: Ansel images appear incomplete when the resolution is set to 30x or greater.
Open issues:
Windows 10 Issues
: Random DPC watchdog violation error when using multiple GPUs on motherboards with PLX chips.
: Cursor shows brief corruption when hovering on certain links in Firefox.
Display corruption may occur on higher refresh rate DisplayPort monitors upon resume from sleep mode.
: Random flickering occurs when connecting G-sync monitor + non-G-Sync HDMI monitor with G-Sync enabled.
The forums has additional info.

Issues and updates:

2449346-The Witcher 3 will BSOD with Bad Spooler error randomly during gameplay
2451459-Batman: Arkham Origins: Physx fog rendering incorrectly
2451530-Rocket League boots to a white screen and then crashes on certain displays
2420789-ARK Survival may crash with bad pool caller error and eventual BSOD
The bugs below are fixed in NVIDIA Hotfix Driver 417.21:

2451378-Memory Data Rate reporting incorrect value in NVIDIA Control Panel
2451173-Microsoft Edge does not respond after playing back video
2451084-Can't apply color format after updating to driver 417.01
Outright mentions a hotfix driver although some details could have been added in after 417.01's initial release and then info such as additional game problems including two BSOD's at that.
Seems it's going to be best to double check and look up both sources from now on especially if the forum topic is updated with additional findings.

Just reading it myself at the moment, so can't yet help more than that.
Even after I can't guarantee anything

China region for the drivers. Nvidia's doing a separate release for them for whatever reason now.
DCH itself has something to do with them being Universal drivers being able to be tweaked modified to meet specific needs of OEMs if I am recalling right (ie region etc) ... I saw a Microsoft briefing on it somewhere... but eh goin off of memory atm
EDIT: derp shermp Redemption80 has it posted right above me

Checked and i can't replicate the Edge and colour format issue, but the memory data rate issue was quite amusing to see.
