Corsair Carbide 275Q review
A smaller but more spacious Carbide?

Introduction

It’s time to check out the new Corsair Carbide 275Q mid-tower PC chassis. Recently we presented two new Corsair cases on guru3d, both from a higher price segment. One was the quite modest Carbide 678C, and the other was the more sophisticated Crystal 680X. This time, it’s a chassis that serves the lower segment of the market, and its design is focused mainly on silence, which is why it’s called Q(uiet). The new model has generally been available from the end of January 2019, for USD $89.99, which is a $20 premium on the original 275R (we reviewed that one about a year ago), which featured tempered glass panels. Much of this premium isn't just about the noise dampening, but also the included 5-channel fan controller. The Carbide 275Q features noise-absorbing foam along the inner walls of its side panels, which are now opaque matte-black. The chassis supports up to six 120mm fans and multiple radiators of up to 360mm. You get a room for graphics cards up to 37 cm in length, and CPU coolers up to 17 cm in height. The chassis sports an intuitive cable routing and storage mount system wherein the 2.5-inch drive bays for solid-state drives are conveniently located at the back of the motherboard area. The Carbide 275Q Silent comes with removable dust filters on the bottom and front for easy cleaning and maintenance. You still get two vertical expansion slots in addition to 7 normally located slots, even though there's no window to show off your graphics card. The rest of its features are carried over from the original. The Corsair Carbide Series 275Q is a quiet mid-tower ATX case that matches minimalist design with whisper quiet operation thanks to built-in high-density sound damping panels.

Only a black version is available. The Corsair Carbide 275Q is a relatively small chassis. It measures 460mm x 211mm x 455mm (L x W x H, which gives 44.16 l in total) and supports up to ATX-size motherboards. It can house a maximum of two 3.5” drives and four 2.5” ones. The following ports are available on the front panel:

  • USB 3.0 (2 x),
  • 3.5 mm HD audio jacks
  • Power and Reset switches

The Corsair Carbide 275Q has many cooling options, with support for up to 360mm radiators on the front, 240mm on the top, and a 120mm radiator in the back. Dust filters have been installed on the front, and on the floor.
