Features

TeamGroup will be offering capacities of 250 GB, 500 GB, and 1 TB. The sample that has arrived for testing is the 250GB version of the drive. The series as stated will be fitted with TLC (Triple-level cell) written NAND flash memory from Micron. This allows them to offer the big storage volume at a lower price point.  In 3D NAND, NAND layers, not chips, are stacked in a single IC. The good news is continued cost reduction, smaller die sizes and more capacity per NAND chip. Also, installed NAND toolsets in the wafer fabs can, for the most part, be reused, thereby extending the useful life of the fab equipment. The NAND ICs are driven by a Silicon Motion SM2258 controller as well as a DRAM cache and a small partition that will be SLC written to keep write performance up-to-snuff.

Specifications
  • Sequential reads/writes up to 560/ 500 MB/s on all file types
  • Random reads/writes up to 80~90k on all file types
  • Over 90x more energy efficient than a typical hard drive
  • Accelerated by Micron 3D NAND technology 64 Layer TLC
  • More durable than a hard drive – no small moving parts that are prone to failure
  • Adaptive Thermal Protection allows for adaptive cooling
  • 3 year limited warranty

Pricing (etail) is set at or just over € 99,- / USD for the 250 GB model and it is paired with a 3 years warranty. Higher volume sizes will be cheaper though, we've seen the 1TB version for € 279 which is 28 cents per GB SSD. That's good pricing, and remember there's an RGB solution in there as well, which whether you like that or not, does cost extra money to implement.

Red Green and Blue (RGB)

T-FORCE DELTA RGB SSD has the largest RGB luminous area in the industry with the ratio of 5:3. Gamers can express themselves by customizing their own lighting. No matter what they choose, it will be incredible! T-FORCE DELTA RGB SSD is the first RGB SSD with water flow light effect in the industry. The light effects can be synchronized with the motherboard, and also present a magnificent mix with water flow light effect to maximize the variability of color.  The addressable RGB work simple enough, you connect an included USB wire towards the SSD, the other end connects towards an RGB connector. There is a problem we stumbled into, the T-Force RGB makes use of a 5V connector, most of the motherboards have/are 12V with four pins.

Please check out the diagram below and the supported motherboards before you purchase this (!). RGB connectors are a bit of jungle right now, one motherboard supports 3-pins 5V, others 4 pins 12V and so onwards. If your mobo does not support you'd need to purchase an RGB controller, that or opt the T-FORCE DELTA S RGB SSD that is suitable for motherboards that have 12V RGB connector. Basically, they offer three version so you can match the SSD RGB system towards your mobo:

  • Delta RGB - connects to the 5V connector on the motherboard
  • Delta X RGB - connects to the USB 2.0 connector on the motherboard
  • Delta S RGB - connects to the 12V connector on the motherboard.
We'd advise you to have a good look on the website in terms of support.

TeamGroup Delta RGB DDR5 6000 MHz CL40 review
Today, we are checking the TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB 6000 MHz CL40. This is the first DDR5 kit that I had contact with, and overall it’s already from the upper range of the new type of memory (so a nice debut). It has been introduced together with the Intel Alder Lake CPU family but should also be implemented in the AMD AM5 platform. But getting back to the reviewed product, the first information about the new series from TeamGroup memory was published in August’21 (but the maximum frequency was 5600 MHz at that time). The sample that we got is a 2 x 16 GB 6000 MHz model, so it’s a high-frequency kit.
