The Threadripper platform can take high-frequency DDR4 memory, 3200 MHz will not be an issue. That's quad channel, AMD supplied the kits with 4 x 8GB G-Skill 3200 14-14-14-34 Memory model number F4-3200C14D-16GTZR. You enable DOCP (ASUS) or well ..  XMP in the BIOS and boot into 3200 MHz CL14 instantly.

See that lower heatsink just above the chipset heatsink? That is the new VRM heatsink that ASUS will offer for the new Zenith (and will be applied as default in the stores from now on). Basically, this segment was not cooled enough for a 32-core processor. For those with a Zenith and a need to upgrade the proc, the kit will be available separately.

Availability:

Etailers around the world are primed to begin taking pre-orders beginning today, Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, for the 32-core, 64-thread Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX. The 16-core, 32-thread AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X CPU is expected to launch on Aug. 31, 2018 and the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX and 2920X models are slated for launch in October 2018.
