Conclusion VC 2600 & 3600

And so we come to the end. The place to make your mind up.

Conclusion VC 2600

So, a maximum of 75c with 3DMark06, and 78~79c with HL Lost Coast and CS Source and the card wasnt even overclocked. This means that this cooler isnt really suited for overclocking, since the temps were high on idle. I have to say that the card didnt have a single problem running what ever it was thrown at it, but the temps did get around 79c with no overclocking which is just too much. If used on a 6600 card or similar though, it should perform a lot better, since those cards are build on a much smaller chip architecture (less transistors versus clock frequency), and dont produce as much heat. The installation proved to be a bit problematic, mainly because the clip that would supply the pressure would pull back and make it a bit difficult for me to screw it. The manual could use some improvement as well.

The plus points of this cooler though are that it is absolutely silent and that it can be mounted on a lot of cards. I had to take it out of the case, power it up, and hold it close to my ear to be able to hear anything. So, if you are looking for a silent cooler that is indeed silent, and your card isnt one that needs monster cooling performance, this might do the trick. It's an okay and silent cooler yet the temperatures in our opinion are too to high for it to cool down a high-end product sufficiently. This would be a suitable cooler for low and mid-range videocards.

Conclusion VC 3600

And then there's the VC-3600. In all honesty, I like it. It can be mounted on a lot of cards, dumps out the hot air, from the case, didnt have any real issues installing it, it was infact easier to install than the VC2600, and it is really silent, just like its little brother. It is a bit cooler than the VC2600, managing 74~75c with CS: Source which means that the VC3600 handles heat a bit better when it rises, it's still a tad on the high side.

I cant stop thinking though that a slightly bigger fan to push more air could help in making this cooler a lot more powerful. Of course that could also mean that the point of this cooler would be gone, cooling your card, while being extremely silent. We again recommend this cooler for mid- and low-range products. High-end VGA cards will be cooled down sufficiently yet overclocking might be an issue. However if you go for good looks and silence then the VC-3600 definitely comes recommended
