The looks are sweet alright, the tempered glass gives it that marvelous look and feel. The top side cover is kept in place with mounts, if you look closely at the bezel, there is spacing left in-between the edges for lots of airflow.

The backside is nearly entirely perforated with hexagonal holes for efficient ventilation, and naturally includes seven expansion card slots perforated in the same style, a mounting option for a 140mm fan on the back, and cuts for the power supply and I/O panel at the top and bottom, respectively.

The top side is closed. There is no open lid, like with the Define. The lid is similarly constructed of plastic and has beveled edges. This gives a good impression, but it is immediately recognizable as plastic. The front ports are minimal in comparison to other cases, but with 1x USB-C, 2x USB, and HD Audio, they provide the essentials and certainly plenty for the majority of users. When the power button is pressed, it illuminates; the reset button is located on the edge.

There is no room for the power supply in the bottom, it resides at the top side necessitating another reliance on airflow.  As a result of the structural separation of the power supply, space for the cables is also available.

A significant advantage of this design is the ease with which wires may be added or removed from a modular power supply by simply removing the top panel. This is animprovement over the majority of other PSU mounting solutions, which frequently require the PSU to be removed in order to add or remove a cable.

The Torrent's front is decidedly un-Fractal, with a huge grille in place of a closed front or fine-mesh grille. That grille demonstrates the Torrent's primary focus: airflow, airflow, and more airflow. From a distance, the grille appears to be made of aluminum, which makes sense given the high price, but it is actually made of plastic. The design is significantly more attractive than the standard slotted design, and with RGB lights in the fans behind it, it also looks rather lovely. Fractal features a full-length front panel dust filter beneath the grille to protect the fans and components behind it.

Beyond that on the case are two massive Prisma AL-18 ARGB fans. These take up the entire width of the chamber but can be replaced with smaller fans.
