NVIDIA DLSS performance

NVIDIA DLSS performance

The latest F1 2021 on PC will feature Nvidia DLSS support, as long as you have a GeForce RTX GPU installed. This means that the game can run with a frame rate over 100fps at 1440p, or over 60fps with a 4K image with say an older generation GeForce RTX 2060 Super. DLSS is an NVIDIA's AI Deep learning algorithm that boosts frame rates while generating crisp and sharp game images. It whoever requires the investment of an RTX graphics card that has Tensor cores.

We took three DLSS supporting graphics cards from mainstream to high-end, the GeForce RTX SUPER models 3060, 3070 and 3080. The results are substantial According to the supplied nvngx_dlss.dll, The EGO engine utilizes the latest DLSS 2.2.9.0 revision, which achieves really good results and smear-free results for F1 2021. During our races, DLSS made no graphical anomalies that we could notice. There is one side note to be made, we cannot detect a mode DLSS selection in F1 2021, but we can only assume that DLSS Quality (Q) is used given what we're not seeing.

The number of additional tests (and thus time) we need to perform for Raytracing and DLSS is immense. Ergo we limited the test set towards RTX series 3000.  Below 2560x1440 (WQHD)  and 3840x2160 (UHD) at DX12, DX12 Raytracing and DX12 Raytracing + DLSS enabled.  You'll notice that the more GPU bound the resolution gests, the better DLSS will work out for you, and that's exactly where you need it.
