Performance wise the kit also does not disappoint, these kits are easy to install, offer good perf for money and the ability to tweak your processor. The fans offer quite a bit of airflow and remain really silent (under normal conditions). We'd classify the cooler as a performance product and thus it matches mainstream to high-end cooling. With default clocks, the product is incredibly silent. However overclocked the noise coming from the fans can be heard a bit, you could however quite easily lower fan RPM towards an acoustic level of preference. The 240mm radiator with the two high performing fans work out well, cooling capacity is definitely good.
Aesthetics & Design
From an aesthetic point of view, the new Captain 240PRO series AIO coolers from DeepCool really are stunning. It is nice to see this kit upgraded towards a fully addressable RGB system that you can hook up and sync with a compatible motherboard RGB connector. For those that do not, DeepCool included a very handy RGB controller that you can use, and it has so many options that there will be a setting of your preference for sure. DeepCool guarantees a leak free setup, as there now is a pressure valve embedded into the radiator. I'm not sure how that would work if the block had a leak, but any added protection always is a good thing of course. The new RGB fans and RGB centric pump with addressable LEDs as stated, really look cool. Installation is simply a breeze, easy and fast. No skills are required other than the need for ten minutes to install the kit. It has to be said, there are a lot of wires though due to the RGB setup, also I would have preferred the cables to be a bit longwer.,
Pricing
Pretty good, really good even as DeepCool's asking price is set at an MSRP of $139.99 USD, which is quite a bit of money for LCS but this one comes with addressable LEDs on the pump, two RGB addressable fans as well as fan and RGB HUBs and also an RGB controller. That's a lot of kit, and even at 139 USD, that means the kit offers good value for money.
Installation
The Captain 240PRO is easy to install with its mounting system. The unit is factory filled with coolant in a closed loop. Just install the backplate, the standoff-screws, position the cooler and secure it. No 'advanced' skills are required other than the need for ten minutes to install the kit. The one thing a bit quirky is connecting all cables and clear your PC of that wiring spaghetti.
Final words
The Captian 240PRO is a product series that I like. It's a good performing kit, and for the money, you get quite a bit of it. First off, it's simply a cool looking product with the tubing bypass on the colling block (which really is a working bypass btw). PErformance is good, albeit tweaked the fan RPM went up pretty fast. This is easily adjusted by assigning a max RPM to the fans at a noise level you are comfortable with. The looks are great and the RGB (addressable) system is impressive. DeepCool delivers everything you need to get going including a very good RGB controller with lots of colors and animation. Of course, you can sync it up towards a compatible motherboard (5V aRGB) as well, please do check the DeppCool website for compatibility. 140 bucks is a lot of money for a 240mm LCS kit, however with the added addressable RGB on pumps and fans as well as the fan and RGB HUBs and controller make this a very appealing kit for any performance demanding end-users that need to chill their processor. The cooler fits it all from Intel and AMD, that includes Threadripper. This kit as such is whole-heartedly recommended by Guru3D.com
