The RM650 Gold seems to resemble close to the HX850, with the main changes being an increase in efficiency to 80 PLUS Gold, lower noise and LINK. The PSU and cables all come in a carton packaging protected with plastic. The PSU is protected by a plastic pouch and the modular cables can be found in a plastic bag as well. It is a very sturdy packaging ensuring its safe transportation.

Delivered with the PSU are the simple basics like power cable, manual and screws. As stated, this is a modular model. So you will receive plenty of cables. We'll sort them out on the next page though as we need to tell a tale or two about them. Overall you can expect an AC power cable, a few cable ties, four black mounting screws, a case badge, a basic manual and warranty guide, as well as an advertising leaflet with some Corsairs more trendy products.

After unpacking, not a dent, scratch or smudge was on the unit. I like it, the PSU breathes this stylish matte dark finish with a black/blue theme. The PSU is ready for all current CPU & GPU generations and offers high capacity on its single +12V rail which is great for multi-GPU graphics solutions or really high end graphics cards. At the front and top side we spot a honeycomb air vent; it allows for optimal airflow running through the PSU, cooling down its components and keeping them nicely efficient. Also, obviously we spot the power connector and the on/off switch. The backside, yup is 100% modular.
