Introduction

Corsair NIGHTSWORD RGB mouse
Corsair’s weapon will light up the night?

In this article, we review the Corsair NIGHTSWORD RGB Gaming mouse. It’s a mouse on the higher end of the market; higher than, for example, the recently reviewed M55 RGB Pro. This time, it’s not an ambidextrous layout, but rather a dedicated right-handed design. As the name suggests (and Corsair’s tradition too J), the product comes with RGB lighting (with iCUE compatibility, so you can configure the RGB LEDs yourself). You’ll also find that the product has an 18,000 DPI optical sensor. What? 18K? That’s insane, right? The device is rather pleasing aesthetically, and it’s a bit flashy: it’s a “gaming” product, so not all of you will find it attractive. With a weight of 119g, it’s not a super-light device, and you can still adjust the weight (add some more).

  • Custom PixArt Native 18,000 DPI Optical Sensor. Extremely accurate tracking, customizable in 1 DPI steps.
  • Professional Comfort Lightweight design and shape sculpted specifically with FPS/MOBA players in mind.
  • Ten Fully Programmable Buttons. Take control and personalize your layout.
  • Ultra-Durable OMRON Switches Custom tuned for gaming, providing an ultrafast response and long-term reliability
  • Four-Zone Dynamic RGB Lighting Dynamic and vibrant lighting with virtually unlimited customization.
  • Programmable with CORSAIR iCUE Software. Intelligent Control, Unlimited Possibilities.
  • Onboard Profile Storage. Take your settings on the go.
  • Surface Calibration Utility. Play your best on any surface.
  • Ultra-fast 1ms Lag-free Gameplay. Executes your actions precisely and with minimal delay.

The Corsair NIGHTSWORD RGB mouse has been fitted with a Pixart PAW3391 gaming-grade optical sensor (based on a PWM3360 that has been customized for Corsair), which is rated up to 18K DPI, and has a polling rate of 1000 Hz. Yes, that’s humongous, and not necessarily useful in daily applications. This is a mouse that’s very suitable for gamers, and Corsair even uses the phrase “Performance Tunable FPS/MOBA Gaming Mouse” to describe this piece of hardware. The NIGHTSWORD RGB has four-zone RGB color customization and a total of ten programmable buttons. Let’s check what this product is worth in practice, ok? Aaah, the MSRP is 79.99 USD, 79.99 EUR, and 69.99 GBP.
