EK-Quantum Magnitude WaterBlock Review - Test results

Test results

1 - 1.1GPM is a basic and sufficient value at which a water block can demonstrate its potential. We can see that the EK-Quantum Magnitude has an advantage of more than 1-2 degrees over its predecessors. At the same time, EK-Quantum Magnitude with standard Jet Plate 0.5P proved to be a non-optimal option in my case, because according to the instructions, Jet Plate 0.5P is set with a smooth surface to the micro channels, which significantly reduces the turbulence in the micro channels. The deeper transverse "roughness" texture of Jet Plate 0.6P increases microchannel turbulence, so that the water block can remove more heat.

Due to the ling names the charts got all stretched and warped, we shortened Quantum Magnitude towards "Q Mag", and Q Velocity to "Quantum Velocity.

The EKWB statement regarding reduced hydrodynamic resistance has been confirmed in practice. To achieve a flow rate of 1 - 1.1GPM, a 10% reduction in pump engine speed was required.

The increase in flow rate to 1.5-1.65 GPM has had a positive impact on the performance of all the solutions being considered. The EK-Quantum Magnitude still remains a favorite, although the gap from the EK-Quantum Velocity has been significantly reduced.

Hydrodynamic resistance in EK-Quantum Magnitude also shows better results with a 50% increase in flow rate, with Jet Plate 0.6P being more efficient than standard Jet Plate 0.5P. A strange result is possible, but the position of the hoses from the change of Jet Plate has not changed, the conditions for flow rate remained the same.

The final test is the maximum optimal flow rate of 2-2GPM, wherein EK-Quantum Kinetic performance not being a limiting factor. Further increasing the flow rate simply does not give any advantage in heat dissipation.  EK-Quantum Magnitude is comparable to the EK-Quantum Velocity. Amazingly, we have the same performance at three times the price difference.

The only significant advantage left behind by the EK-Quantum Magnitude was the low demands on the pump performance:
