Testing a tweaked Threadripper
Let's have a look at the results for the system in its an overclocked state, we apply a multiplier of 41 at ALL 32 CORES, and then add a beefy fixed 1.40v to the processor.
Once overclocked, the temps jump up fast and hard. Surprisingly the cooler does manage well at ~ 83 degrees (that's all 32 cores @ 4100 MHz / 1.4v) . You do need to wonder whether or not you want your 1000 USD processor to run at such temps though.
Small sidenote on DBA levels. At this stage, the cooler will ramp up in RMP significantly, yet we measure ~38 DBa, that means you can hear the fan, but certainly not at a moderate noise level. So that is still okay, just not classified as silent.
