Product Showcase
At the lower edge of the ASUS X399 we see the headers, front panel connectors, and also switches for power and reset as well as a safeboot and retry switch.
It's a labyrinth of features really. Just in that lower left corner, you can see some quality capacitors empowering the Realtek based 1220 codec sound setup.
The motherboard boasts an LED system in combination with their SYNC light app, RGB strips are now supported as well. Here you can see the dual 8-pin power headers. As you can see, the VRM area has active cooling, it is very silent I should add, something that has been rather different in the past with ASUS coolers.
So here we can spot the PCI-Express slots a bit better. These are configured as:
- AMD Ryzen Threadripper Processors
- 4 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16, x16/x16, x16/x8/x16, x16/x8/x16/x8)
- AMD X399 chipset
- 1 x PCIe 3.0 x4
Below, you'll see the position of the OLED screen, it shows display/status codes and things like CPU temperature.
