Powercolor Radeon HD 4850

We've been working with TUL/Powercolor for quite some time now. They just make really nice ATI products and yes .. you can expect an updated version of their Radeon HD 4850 pretty soon as well. Though today we look at their reference based model, you can expect a version with customized cooling and likely a different improved PCB.

As stated the product we have right here is the reference model, nothing too flashy in terms of the bundle. But also here the budget price will kick in as the Powercolor Radeon HD 4850 will sell for less than 199 USD ass well.

Lets have a look at their product.

AMD ATI Radeon HD 4850 review

  • Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3
  • Driver CD
  • Crossfire connector
  • 6-pin to molex converter cable
  • Svideo to composte adapter
  • 3-way RCA component cable (Analog HD)
  • VGA-DVI dongle
  • HDMI adapter

Since this Radeon HD 4850 is reference based as well, the core clock speed is 625 MHZ and 1986 MHz on the memory. And that's great news as we now also know for sure a Crossfire session will work just fine.

Okay let's startup some tests. We'll first dive into the usual suspects as power consumption, heat and noise levels and afterwards we'll startup the benchmark session.
