The speculation on the Z390 chipset and the 8-core processors kind of gets lost in space eh? We talked Z390 for quite a while now. We know it's paired with at least a Coffee lake based 8-core part. The news today is that three CPU SKUs will be released alongside the chipset. An 8-core, 16-thread CPU (Core i9 9900K); a 6c/12t one (Core i7 9700K) and a 6c/6t part (Core i5 9600K ).

Lite-on States that component prices will rise the coming two years

Lite-On, responsible for several chips, chipsets, and components (e.g. Plextor) claims that component shortages will drive up prices for the next two years. Passive components price hikes due to shortages will sooner or later send end product pricing up, the consumer market will have to make adjustments in the coming two years.

AMD is looking into chiplets to connect future CPUs and GPUs

Multi-die chips are what we're talking about to be able to fight off Moore's Law in the future. AMD already is using the technology to connect multiple processors in Threadripper and for servers, Epyc, but also Intel with Kaby Lake-G. However new in research are Chiplets, are parts of chips stacked together on an interposer that form the entire chip.

Announced a while ago in January, now introduced more secure WPA3 security. There have been a number of flaws with WPA2, last year, for example, the KRACK vulnerability that was patched on many devices. The Wi-Fi Alliance now introduces the successor of the 14-year-old WPA2 protocol, WPA3.

From the looks of it, that new 8-core Coffee lake CPU, might work fine on the Z370 chipset. So Intel, while still releasing Z390, might simply be rebranding the Z370 and allow motherboard manufacturers to pair some 3rd party controllers with it for more features.
