BenQ is set to release a new Gaming 27" IPS Monitor, the monitor will sell under product name GW2765HT. It is a nice size 27" that has an IPS panel at a 2560 x 1440 resolution. The monitor maex out at a 60Hz refresh rate though. For IPsd the panel is very fast at an advertised 4ms G2G response time .

More X99 news this morning as a photo of the ASUS X99-Deluxe surfaced on the web. The motherboard comes with gorgeous black and white looks. The CPU is based on 8-phases VRM with a 4-phase one for DDR4, it has eight DDR4 DIMM slots. Expansion slots include four PCI-Express 3.0 x16, one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (electrical x4), and an additional PCI-Express 2.0 x4.

Cheapest Haswell-E CPU will cost little more than a 4790

Later this week Intel is to announce the Intel Core i7 Haswell-E platform. Leaked data surfaced on the web and it shows that the cheapest Haswell-E CPU will cost little more than a 4790, 389 USD which is just over 300 EURO (Ex VAT). The model that will cost 389 dollar is the Core i7 5820K from which the specs are widely known already.

HP recalls 6 million laptop power cords burn risk

On August 26, 2014 HP announced a worldwide voluntary recall and replacement program in cooperation with various government regulatory agencies, for certain AC power cords used with AC adapters distributed worldwide with HP and Compaq notebook and mini notebook computers, as well as with AC adapters provided with accessories such as docking stations. These AC power cords have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard. The affected AC power cords were shipped with products and accessories sold from September 2010 through June 2012. HP customers affected by this program will be eligible to receive a replacement AC power cord for each verified, recalled AC power cord at no cost.

Amazon Acquires Twitch in $1 Billion Deal

Nobody saw that coming, it seems Google is off the table for Twitch. Amazon and Twitch have officially announced the deal, which will see Amazon purchase all outstanding shares of Twitch for roughly $970 million in cash. The deal has been approved by Twitch's shareholders and should be completed sometime later this year.

If you look around a bit at price-watch engines you will notice that Haswell-E already is being listed. Polish based Kombo is listing the 8-core flagship model with specs and everything. The processor will be clocked at 3 GHz with turbo ability towards 3.5 GHz. Kombo is listing the processor for €954 which in all honestly is precisely as expected. Intel's uber-high-end processors always have been roughly 1000 EURO/USD.

Star Citizen's Latest Ship has 100,000 Polygons

Cloud Imperium Games Technical Designer and resident CryEngine expert Dan Tracy explains the technology behind the stunning Origin M-50, which is the latest ship released for the game and an agile racer. Tracy revealed that the M-50's incredibly realistic details are displayed thanks to twelve 4096 x 4096 textures layered on top of each other, while the model is made by 100,000 polygons. Further details are provided by normal maps which are also 4096 in resolution.
