AMD officially announces Radeon R9 285 and new FX-processors

In a live conference AMD officially announced the 249 USD Radeon R9 285 and new FX-processors. The Radeon R9 285 as expected will be based on the new Tonga GPU, a GPU with 1792 streamprocessors. The memory bus has been cut down towards 256-bit and the clock frequency is 918 MHz.

AMD Radeon R9 285 Launches September 2nd

AMD has kept the wraps on this one tight, however a document shows that the Tonga based Radeon R9 285 will be released onb the 2nd September, 2014. Tomorrow August 23rd AMD is celebrating 30 years of graphics and gaming. On that day, AMD will share "partial" details of the card.
