Google Announces Chromecast

Google announced Chromecast, a $35 HDMI dongle that will stream media from your Android device to your TV. No streaming of games has been mentioned yet. According to the specs, Chromecast is powered by a Marvell "Armada" DE3005 chip and an AzureWave 2.4 GHz Wireless N chip. The details were spilled by updated FCC documents that originally evaluated the device as a Google H840 Device labeled H2G2-42.

Got cash to spare, wnnay go a little extreme ? Though it requires a custom driver fro AMD in the future you can make this happen.  Microsoft Blog rounded up a trio of Sharp PN-K321 32-inch 4K monitors and wired them to a Windows 8 PC stuffed with three ASUS 7970 GPUs. The $17,000 experiment proved two things: Such tech is outside our price-range and it takes a huge amount of support to get it working. For instance, before AMD wrote custom drivers to make Eyefinity and multi-stream transport play nicely together, the framerate was a meager 8FPS. Video after the break.

Download NVIDIA Inspector version 1.9.7.2, a handy application that reads out driver and hardware information for GeForce graphics cards. The nVIDIA Inspector Tool is basically an nVIDIA only GPU-Z utility but with a decent OverClocking feature and you can set your clocks and fan speeds. Orbmu2k has released this program, which seems to NVIDIA graphics cards and offers information on tools for GPU and memory clock speed, GPU operating voltage and fan speed increase.

Samsung today released the 840 EVO SSD series, which we will review. With the EVO Samsung raises the bar though as the SSD 840 EVO was designed to deliver more speed and even better reliability. To do so Samsung had to apply a very clever trick, magically transform an MLC buffer into SLC programmable. Interesting stuff.

 An interesting observation has been made while checking out EA's financial results. Whilst the PC arena has a hard time fighting the popularity of tablets their revenue (EA) for PC related game sales increased by a good 8 percent. In fact when you check out the graph right now the PC is doing much better then any console.

Major SIM Card Security Flaw Uncovered

Karsten Nohl, founder of Security Research Labs in Berlin, told the New York Times on Sunday that he has discovered a flaw in the encryption technology used in some SIM cards. This vulnerability could allow hackers to eavesdrop on the device owner while in a call, make purchases through mobile payment systems, and possibly even impersonate the device owner.

These demands for master encryption keys, which have not been disclosed previously, represent a technological escalation in the clandestine methods that the FBI and the National Security Agency employ when conducting electronic surveillance against Internet users.
