Extended overclock sessions versus temperatures

Since we have such high-end cooling in the house we definitely should have better tweakability on the processor.

As such I was wondering where I'd end up with a quick overclock session. We had a peek at a selection of stages in overclocking and their respective temperatures, have a look at the following results please.

Temperatures in Degrees Celsius

Okay so these are the tested stages, above the Core i7 870 @ default / 3.2 (1.3V) / 3.8 (1.4V) /4.2 (1.5V) GHz. So even at 3800 MHz with 1.4 volts we can use the processor with this cooler, as you can see even at 4200 MHz our temps remain fine. And that's testimony to a lot of cooling capacity.

For the sake of it we also overclocked with the resistor wire installed a in quiet mode, we can conclude here is that the thermal dissipation, or even better stated, the cooling capacity under high stress, is excellent.
