DX9: Hard Reset

DX9: Hard Reset

Hard Reset is a PC-exclusive FPS from The Flying Wild Hog, a Polish developer that is made up from members of the team behind Painkiller (People Can Fly), and former developers from CD Projekt Red and City Interactive.
In development since April 2009, the game features a cyberpunk plot. It draws inspiration from William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, and Philip K. Dick (especially Blade Runner in story). In gameplay, Serious Sam is the main inspiration; explosive barrels and large hordes of enemies will be prominent within the game. There is no multiplayer.

Hard Reset was added into our benchmark suite as it has a handy to use benchmark mode that is very representative of the in-game graphics engine performance. Please do focus at 2560x1600 here as this DX9 title really is a little CPU limited with so much GPU rendering-horsepower available.

For the comparative chart, considering the GeForce GTX 690 is a single based graphics card, we'll compare only to other graphics cards not set up in SLI or Crossfire.

We however started off with somewhat CPU limited DX9 titles, later on in the benchmarks where the GPU starts to matter more, the performance differences will be much bigger.

And here a few results we had available compared to other multi-GPU setups. As you can see that 100 to 115 FPS range is is the maximum, very likely due to processor limitation.
