On this page we'll show you some photos. The images were taken at 4272 x 2848 pixels and then scaled down. The camera used was a Canon 450D - 12 MegaPixel.

There it is folks... Nehalem, aka Bloomfield, aka Core i7. It truly is a big processor and reminds me very much of NVIDIAs GTX 200 series GPU size wise. This is an engineering (vanilla) sample from Intel. All yours for 999 USD.

It's a big processor alright, the sheer performance it offers is amazing. You need decent cooling though to keep this puppy under control.

Socket LGA1366, also known as Socket B certainly has a lot of pins... I didn't count to verify the number though, if you don't mind. If your imagination is as sick as mine... is anyone seeing an old ancient Roman village in the center of the processor as well :-)

For our test we'll be using a memory kit especially supplied by OCZ. This is (unannounced) OCZ Blade memory rated at 2133 MHz (!). We need a serious motherboard to be able to cope with that frequency. The eVGA X58 had a lot of issues accepting 2133 MHz, and an ASUS Rampage II Extreme motherboard also had a tough time chewing it up properly. DDR3 voltage is everything here and I definitely like to state that it needs more than the suggested 1.65v on that sticker.

But once you get it properly set up in the BIOS, you'll be amazed though.
