Storage performance - Battery life

Storage performance: Dell sneaked a Samsung SSD into our lappy and shit man... that certainly helps out! Blazing speeds, loading times and overall performance. Dell preconfigured the unit right, in AHCI mode. Now we are not going to perform an entire SSD performance review here, but check it out:

As you can see, we top out at 205 MB/sec read speeds and 182 MB/sec write speeds. ATTO functions as an indication, there are many more ways to measure of course, I mean just read our SSD reviews. So you can imagine what a unit like this does for an UltraPortable, it makes it screaming fast.

Battery life: This surprised us, I mean really surprised us. When you use the M11x defaulted to 'Intel' graphics mode, browse a little, word process, listen to a tune or two then your battery life can extend up-to roughly 6, maybe even 7 hours. When NVIDIA's Optimus mode kicks in during a game, the NVIDIA GT 335 will reduce battery life to roughly 3 hours, and you know what... that is still mighty long we feel. Of course it can depend a little on the game, if your game uses heaps of CPU utilization and stresses the GT 335 GPU completely, yeah it might be a little less alright.

But overall, 3 hours of gaming on one charge is something I find impressive. A full charge of the battery will take you roughly 2 to 3 hours.
